W hen the couple bought their house seven years ago,
they w eren’t gardeners. But the gorgeous garden they
inherited from the previous owners stirred their interest.
N ow ,
their flowers and organic vegetable garden have
flourished and are a big part of their lives. “W e w ork and
relax there and share plants w ith our neighbors,” says
Susan. W ill says, “We entertain more because of the
garden. W hen w e have parties, everyone wanders around
to look. It’s conducive to getting people to talk.”
The roses’ diversity of shapes and fragrances attracts
Will. ‘Cressida’, a David Austin variety, is the most fragrant
rose in the yard and the couple’s first choice for bouquets.
But the most breathtaking beauty of the yard is the
backyard trellis dripping with ‘Eden’ rose blossoms.
“Everyone who sees the trellis says the exact same thing:
‘Y ou
should have weddings here,’ ” says Susan.
